Create Apple style buttons with Photoshop CS3

Apple launched a brand new website and replaced the glossy buttons with a new look. If you want to quickly recreate the style, download the button styles I created and just apply them to a rectangular shape in Photoshop CS3.
The styles are divided into 3 different sets:
apple_navigation(buttons only).asl:
only background button styles (inactive, over, down, active)
apple_navigation(text only).asl:
only text styles (inactive, over, down, active)
all styles in one set (inactive, over, down, active)

I've always been interested in all kinds of art because I felt the need to express myself in many different ways. I paint, draw, create 3D models, motion graphics & designs of all sorts, play guitar, love photography and whatever else is in between... I was born in Hungary and lived in Hungary, Germany, Australia and the UK for a number of years. I speak German, English and a little Hungarian (I'm working on improving that one again!).

  1. Hi there brilliant work but can you please guide me in how to use these three files within photoshop cs3.. thank you very much!!

  2. You can either double click on the file to copy the layer styles into PS (on OS X… Didn’t test that on Windows) or you go to Edit>Preset Manager, select “styles” and load the preset. There are many ways to load them into the presets.

  3. These are some very important points, some of which I have never even considered. I can’t wait to review my own website using these points. Thanks for the advise.

  4. Hi Attila.
Thank you very much for the tips and files. They helped me a lot.
Wish you have best luck in your life.
